Afghan Salt Bag—Bashir

$45.00

The Namakdan, or Salt Bag was used to store not only rock salt for the shepherd to feed his animals, but also cooking salt for use in the tent. It was always very tightly woven and with a narrow neck which folds over to prevent spillage.

This Salt Bag is from Maimana in Afghanistan and is 80 - 90 years old! And still in completely original condition. An excellent collectors piece.
