Afghan Salt Bag—Baharah

$250.00

The Namakdan, or Salt Bag was used to store not only rock salt for the shepherd to feed his animals, but also cooking salt for use in the tent. It was always very tightly woven and with a narrow neck which folds over to prevent spillage.

This is a very attractive saltbag from the Afghan Balouch tribe and would make a lovely wall hanging, table piece or collectors item.
