Persian Saddle Bag—Oya

$650

The Saddle Bag or "Yastik" was used as a means of transporting baggage & possessions and this particular one has a central split that was placed over a camels hump, or across a donkey. It was important for a girl to weave a variety of bags for her dowry, so as a result they are often extremely well woven & finely detailed.

Today, old tribal bags are becoming hard to find, but are keenly sought after as Collectors items. They look fabulous draped over chairs or sofas and have handy storage pockets for remotes and books!

This is a semi-old Persian saddlebag. A finely woven piece that is still in excellent original condition. A cream base colour with bright and cheerful patterns.
