Vefa is a Turkish vintage Kayseri Rug. This is a very finely woven piece. It is very interesting because it is so well woven that you cannot tell which is the front and back and therefore is fully reversible. It is hard to tell from these photos but one side is more muted than the other which makes it so versatile. Both sides are beautiful.
Kayseri woollen rugs are constructed of wool pile on a wool foundation of warps and wefts. The wool is of high quality and is trimmed short. Designs are similar to the Persian Tabriz and the Isfahan.
