Ceylan is a Kurdish Animal Soumak Rug.
Finely woven in thigh quality wool, this attractive rug was woven using Soumak technique. They originate from the Kerman area in Iran, but most are made by nomadic Kurds in Northern Iraq & South Eastern Turkey.
This piece has playful and beautifully woven icons of animals throughout. It is very tightly woven and therefore hard wearing, especially suited to any heavy traffic areas such as entryways and hallways.
